Agricultural Education Intersession

Cal Poly offers graduate-level courses in Agricultural Education for students during this short intersession period.

Late Spring 2024 class schedule subject to change, refer to your portal for updates.

Please note that enrollment is limited to two classes maximum.

Deadlines for newly admitted students differ. The last day newly admitted Spring 2025 students can enroll in spring intersession classes is Thursday, April 10, 2025. *Note: You must be enrolled in at least one class for the spring term by this date. Failure to do so will result in discontinuation from Cal Poly.

The deadline for enrollment for credential cohort, non-matriculated and current students is Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Skills and techniques of propagation and production of horticulture crops. Scheduling, growing media, construction and use of forcing structures, and plant identification. Marketing plans and promotions. Teaching methods, curriculum development, and identification of resources and materials for horticultural instruction. 3 lectures. Open to agricultural educators or credential students only.
Prerequisite: PLSC 120 or PLSC 230, and senior or graduate standing.

Laboratory Organization and Management in Agricultural Education.

Organizing and managing laboratories, including agriculture mechanics curriculum and determining course content. Student demonstrations and presentations; assessment, analysis, and evaluation. Course is designed for in-service secondary agriculture teachers. Field trip required. Not open to students with credit in AGED 522. 3 lectures.
Prerequisite: Enrollment in MS degree in Agricultural Education.

Paying your fees

Class fees are due 7 days after enrollment. To view posted fees, please view your Cal Poly portal (my.calpoly.edu). The class fee does not include books, room and board, travel, or other personal expenses. Detailed payment instructions can be found here.

Dropping classes and reversal of fees

  • Courses may be dropped via your Student Center through the add/drop date of June 12, 2025
  • If you would like to withdraw after the add/drop date, please send an email to extended@calpoly.edu
  • Note that withdrawing from a class after June 19, 2025 will result in a 'W' grade.

Fee adjustments for students enrolled in the late spring 2025 classes:

  • 100% fee reversal if course is dropped by June 15th, 2025
  • 65% fee reversal if course is dropped by June 22nd, 2025
  • No fee reversal after June 22nd, 2025
