Alternative Process Photography
Explore alternative photographic processes as you learn to produce photographs in non-traditional ways. This hands-on class explores historic photographic processes such as the cyanotype, pinhole photography, and the photo transfer process through an introduction to the materials and the creation and evaluation of the photographic image.
This is an introductory photography course. Through a series of hands-on demonstrations and exercises, students will learn the basics of alternative photographic processes to produce one-of-a-kind works of art. We will cover the essential components of image-making as it relates to fine art and photographic media.
Students must bring 1 roll of 35mm color film. Other materials will be provided by the instructor.

Dara Rosenwasser, Cal Poly Extended Ed Instructor
Dara Rosenwasser is a practicing Central Coast artist with a background in strengthening community through visual storytelling and oral history projects. She received her MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and her BFA in photography from Seattle University. She has worked as a professional photographer since 2005, and continues to exhibit her work on a national level.
